This year we have used social tools, like Suprglu, a site that “glues” all our blogs and other social sites showing in chronological order all the posts that we’ve written during our “Net class”, Bloglines brings other people’s posts on the Net to our desktop; the ECML, a blog which was quite heavy and slow. After a while, we changed to WordPress, which. We also used 43 Places and 43 Things, two sites that have the same objective, which is to share with other people what we want to do with our life or places we want to visit. Community Walk was also used .It is a site where we put marks on locations. We’ve seen also Flickr where we store our photos with others and Del.icio.us, which stores favorites.
Actually, I haven’t developed much. I don’t think that using blogs to learn how to use the Net is a good way to start. Plus, I was “forced” (or us, I don’t know) to take pictures of everything, like if I was made to do it and I disliked this because I’m not a photo person. We were induced to think that we HAD to take pictures of our field trip. Although we had the choice of the subject, we became some sort of “Net Bookworm”, reading sites all along. Writing posts about our lives instead of using the net to search for useful information is not my idea of learning. Of course, the Net is there for this as well, but its main use, as I see it, is to inform us about the world, not to write about things from our daily lives, which only twenty to fifty souls may eventually be interested.Yeah, sure, we have learned something like: transferring posts from one blog to another, or writing English a bit more correctly. We also saw some “all-in-one” sites, in order to save time retrieving posts. I still think that this is sort of useless.
Well, I haven’t got any suggestions of what to do in the Net in other classes, other than stop taking pictures of anything we see.About your complaints of my personal attacks, I don’t care. Whatever you say, I won’t change my opinion about your classes. I don’t want it to end, just to make sure that you actually don’t stop doing these classes because of me. It can actually introduce students to others around the whole world, which is useful, especially for our future, but in some way that I don’t like this.
